The report in The Sun says he could be shown the exit door if he loses against the struggling Magpies on Saturday. Mourinho could also retain his job if he is unable to get the required result due to lack of reliable alternative with former Real Madrid manager turning down the offer to accept the Old Trafford role.
Mourinho had two good seasons with Manchester United he won the League Cup and Europa League in his first season and finished second in the Premier League last season and reached the FA Cup Final.
But a slow start to the season and his burst -up with his players has surprised everyone at the club which calls for a change.
