Man Utd to offer Martial new deal to ward off Juve interest - FCNaija

Manchester United are believed to be preparing to resume contract talks with their forward Anthony Martial, as the club looks to ward off interest from Serie A giants Juventus.

The 22-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January transfer window with France international just started once for Jose Mourinho side in last four matches and he has not had a sustained run in the team since the end of November.

According to Times claims that Juventus have identified Martial as their primary target in the summer transfer window - as Juventus they look to add some youth to their ageing squad.

Martial has 15 months to run on the four-year deal he signed when he moved to O Manchester United from Monaco in 2015 with Red Devils also holding an option to extend it by another 12 months.

In 2016, Martial was forced to give up his No.9 shirt for new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and was handed No.11 instead.

Martial has continued his role as an impact-substitution this season and has impressed with nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances and the forward will be mindful that a lack of regular first-team football will harm their chances of playing in this summer's World Cup.
