Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has sent a warning to Liverpool fans ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday at the Anfield.

Walker was on the Manchester City bus that was attacked on their way to Anfield for last season's Champions League encounter.

Manchester City will take a trip to Anfield for Sunday's Premier League match, he said: “If you go there with fear you're already fighting a losing battle.

“They want to intimidate you, but if you let them, they've won before you are even at the ground.

“They were throwing stuff, it was something out of our control but, for me, it was motivation and we have to take it as a pat on the back.

“It didn't affect me one bit, but it was something they felt they had to do to try to get under our skin because of the football we were playing last season."

Defender Walker added: “We're the champions and we have a point to prove.

“Last year has been and gone now. We have to go to Anfield and put that to bed.

“We have to quieten the crowd down, which is always going to be their 12th man and play the football we've been playing throughout this season."
