Marcelo dropped as Tite list Brazil squad for Copa America

Real Madrid duo Marcelo and Vinicius Junior dropped as Brazil manager Tite has named 23-man strong squad for June’s Copa America.

The 57-year-old coach includes Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar who miss most part of the second half of the Ligue 1, while Daniel Alves returns to Seleção team after missing 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia through injury.

However, Marcelo, Vinicius Jnr, Liverpool stalwart Fabinho, Manchester City right-back Danilo, Tottenham Hotspurs forward Lucas Moura all been left out, while Juventus star Alex Sandro and Atletico man Filipe Luis come in for Real Madrid left-back and with Neres, Paquetá, Everton Soares, Richarlison, Eder Militão and Arthur hope to make first tournament appearances for five-time World Champions.

Brazil coach will play warm-up games against Qatar and Honduras ahead of Copa America as the host nation aim to lift the trophy for the first time in 12 years in home soil.

Defenders: Alex Sandro, Daniel Alves, Eder Militão, Fagner, Filipe Luis, Marquinhos, Miranda, Thiago Silva
