Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has reacted to the semi-final defeat against France in the World Cup on Tuesday evening.

The Red Devils lost the opportunity to play in the final after they were unable to defend a header from a set-piece from Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti in the second half of the clash.

The game ended 1-0 as Umtiti’s goal was decisive for France to advance to the final of the World Cup.

Martinez felt the game was very close and it was only decided by a minute detail.

"The match was very close and it was decided on a small detail," explained Martinez in his post-match interview.

"It's terrible for us to lose from a goal at a corner kick.

"The attitude of the players was excellent, and that's what we have to remember, they gave everything until the last second."
