Former Obafemi Martins Inter Milan teammate Adriano has been hospitalized back in his native country Brazil according to report.
The 36-year-old striker spent two years with Nigerian international at San Siro before Marting was sold to Newcastle United back 2006.
The reason for his hospitalisation
has not been confirmed by his entourage or the clinic, although UOL Esporte claim he cut his hand at home and the wound became infected and admitted in a private hospital in Barra de Tijuca, in western Rio de Janeiro.
He was only in Italy last week with his mother and received a special jersey in his honour from Inter at the club’s training ground, posing with Mauro Icardi.
"I am very happy to be back visiting the team that made me a player,” Adriano had said to Inter TV.
"I remember the people, the fans who always cared for me in Italy and I consider it my second home. I was touched by the wonderful welcome I was given and thank everyone.”
Adriano has not played for nearly two years when he had a brief passage through Miami United, the United States.
However, he has recently revealed that he expected to return to play this year with Flamengo opened the doors, tracing a plan of accompaniment, not only physical but also psychological, taking into account his troubled past.
