Mauro Icardi’s agent has ruled out the striker exit from Inter Milan at the end of the season despite being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The striker’s wife and agent Wanda Nara are confident that the Argentine forward will extend his stay with the SanSiro outfit.

The Argentine scored four goals against Sampdoria on Sunday in their last Serie A match and that has increased the speculation linking him away from the Italian outfit but Nara claims that she and her husband are intending to remain at Inter.

"I cannot foresee the future, but I can say that we like the project of the Zhang family,"  "They want to grow and get Inter back among the great clubs.

"In these years we have also remained without the Champions League. It is clear that we would like to achieve that this year."

"Mauro makes noise on the pitch, where he must make noise.

"We are all very relaxed about it. We are confident about the renewal and, when I meet the sports director at the stadium, we laugh and joke.

"I sometimes make the joke: every day that goes by, he is always worth more.

"But there is serenity in the air, no tension. Will the salary increase? When you renew a contract, it is done to improve the current situation. But we have not yet thought about the conditions and the figures."

Icardi currently has a £97 million release clause, though it remains to be seen if that will be increased if he signs a renewal.

Another factor apparently in Inter's favour is Icardi's working relationship with head coach Luciano Spalletti.

"It is a healthy relationship, a sincere relationship, as it must be between the captain and the head coach," Nara explained.

"Mauro loves listening and Spalletti is helping him to grow," she told Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Inter Milan is in the fourth position in the Serie A standing and point ahead of Lazio who is fifth on the log.
