There are now threats of Messi being hit with a two-year ban for his outburst - and he's been warned CONMEBOL aren't treating the claims lightly.
"I would suggest to Messi to apologise because they are going to shake him with the sanction. The AFA should go out and tell him to apologise for what he said," said Gustavo Abreu, and Argentine lawyer and member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS).
