Micheal Owen reacts to Zappacosta's goal

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has reacted to Davide Zappacosta’s goal, in his opinion, the ex-Real Madrid forward said Zappacosta was trying to deliver a cross before scoring Chelsea’s goal of the night in a comfortable 6-0 win over Qarabag.

It was the summer signing’s first goal for his new club but it appeared that he was indeed trying to cross the ball to his team-mates before he mis-hit it.

Meanwhile, Chelsea had already broken the deadlock through Spanish forward Pedro Rodriguez in the 5th minute before Cesar Azpilicueta added the second of the night before half time.

Substitute Tiemoue Bakayoko made it 4-0 in the 71st minute before Michy Batshuayi made it five in the 78th minute and he also completed the rout when he bundled home a sixth goal of the game.

Speaking about Zappacosta’s goal on BT Sport, Owen said: “Not a chance [did he mean it]. No way was that a shot.

“But fair play to him, it was a brilliant run.

“He deserved it for his positivity. You can’t shoot from there. He just mishit it by about an inch.”

Chelsea will now turn their attentions back to Premier League affairs and their crunch clash against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues have now won their last four games in all competitions after having lost to Arsenal in the Community Shield and Burnley in the Premier League back in August.

Chelsea will turn their attention to the Premier League this weekend as they will entertain Arsenal at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
