Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has cast doubt on whether any team can replicate Los Blancos' success in the future after Zinedine Zidane's team won the Champions League three times in a row.

Since the change of the format of the competition no team has won and defended the title, but Real Madrid won it, defended it and won it again, making it three times in a row with the 3-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday.

"I don't know what else I can say about it really other than that I'm very happy, more than happy."

"Every moment I've had at Real has been one of great pleasure.

"We have achieved historic results, something incredible, and now we will just have to see if any other team succeeds in repeating our results in the future."

One of the main topics of conversation in the wake of Real's success was, surprisingly, the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, who hinted that he could leave the club, although it wasn't something that Modric wanted to focus on.

"The Spanish [media] asked me about it too but I don't want to talk about it, if I'm honest," he said.

"We'll see what happens but it is too important a win to talk about that kind of thing."

Modric was happy to talk of Gareth Bale who grabbed a brace from the bench and helped Real Madrid win the 13th Champions League.

"It is definitely one of the top three most beautiful goals I've ever seen in the Champions League, maybe even the most beautiful of all time!" he said. he stated in an interview with Croatian newspaper Jutarnji list.
