Former managing director of Juventus Luciano Moggi has laughed off talks linking Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo to the Serie A giants, according to report.

Moggi is of the view that the Serie A giants have more pressing needs than signing the 34-year-old star.

Ronaldo hinted that he could leave Real Madrid after the Champions League final in Kiev against Liverpool.

Many clubs have been vying for the signature of the reigning Ballon d'Or holder but Juventus, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are considered to be his likely destination.

Moggi is of the view that the big money to facilitate the deal to sign Ronaldo would be invested elsewhere

 “It makes me laugh.

“Juve's problem is not Ronaldo, it's putting together the defence and the midfield.

“For me, they would be wrong to get Cristiano with a €30 million salary.

“Everyone should remember that I had a deal to buy him as a kid, Ronaldo, but [Marcelo] Salas said no, so it didn’t happen.” He told Sportitalia of the Ronaldo rumours

Juventus was one of the few clubs that spotted Ronaldo’s talent when he was a teenager but Salas reluctant to move scuppered the deal before he secured a move to Manchester United.
