Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has equalled Samuel Eto’o ’s record in the Champions League with his goal against Manchester City in the Champions quarter-final at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The former Barcelona and Inter Milan star has
the record of most goals by an African in a single season in the Champions League.
Eto;o scored eight goals with Inter Milan during the 2010/2011 season when he helped the Milan base team to win the treble, (The Serie A, Coppa Italia and the Champions League) under Jose Mourinho.

Salah can now manage to break the record if he scores in the semi-finals.
The Egyptian attacker has now scored 39 goals in all competition this season with eight of those strikes coming from the Champions League hence matching the record of former Cameroun forward.
The former AS Roma forward will be aiming to break the record and put his name in the history book as the African player with the highest goal tally in a single campaign of the Champions League.
Eto’o won three Champions League trophies, Two with Barcelona and one for Inter Milan.
