Monaco ace Fabregas defends former Chelsea teammates

AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas has defended his former Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard, according to report.

Hazard was a subject of speculation for Real Madrid for years before he eventually signed for the Los Blancos this summer from Chelsea in a deal worth £88.5m plus add ons.

Hazard has not hit the ground running for his new club since his arrival and he has been criticized for being overweight.

But Cesc told Marca: "I'm surprised to talk about his weight, it seems that people have not seen his seven years in the Premier League.

"The preseason may have been difficult for him, playing in Madrid is an important step, but I do not doubt him."

Hazard was named in the squad to face RB Salzburg on Wednesday evening win their pre-season friendly match.
