Monaco vice-president, Vadim Vasilyev, has claimed that Djibril Sidibe is capable of playing for any big European club after turning down Arsenal last summer.
The former Lille player rejected Arsenal while he was still playing for Lille and instead he joined Ligue 1 side Monaco and he has produced some excellent performances this season. Also, Read; Dimitri Seluk: Toure could join United
According to Daily Mail, Vasilyev said: “ Djibril Sidibe preferred Monaco to Arsenal, now he is in the French national team, and he can join the top European clubs. He deserves it.”
Capable of performing effectively in either full-back berth, Sidibe has averaged four defensive actions per game in Ligue 1 this season, while he has also provided a regular attacking threat, as showcased by the fact that he has laid on 26 chances for his team-mates.
In comparison to Arsenal’s full-backs, Sidibe has won more tackles (1.95) per game in the league this season. However, he has made fewer interceptions and blocks than Gunners left-back Nacho Monreal.
Sidibe will hope to help Monaco be crowned Ligue 1 champion by the end this campaign, with the Champion League quarterfinalist leading the log table with three points clear ahead of their closest challenger Paris Saint-Germain.
