Nainggolan AS Roma midfielder Radja Naingollan has confirmed he has met with incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to discuss a summer transfer to Stamford Bridge. The Roma star is one of Conte’s top targets at Stamford Bridge although he has expressed a desire to stay in the Italian capital. It was alleged last month that Nainggolan secretly met with Conte in a top Rome hotel, a claim the Belgian denied. But Nainggolan has now admitted that he has indeed spoken with the incoming Blues chief, adding that compatriots Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are urging him to join them in west London too. The central midfielder told reporters: “I have met with Antonio Conte and I know he wanted me at Juventus. “He has told me what kind of player I can be for him and I feel he still wants me. However, I am now concentrating on the next few weeks and to see what will happen. “Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard have already asked me to come to Chelsea, but a possible transfer is not in my head.” Roma are open to a deal but are believed to be demanding around £27million for Nainggolan. However, convincing the player to join Chelsea could be a different matter altogether. Nainggolan told Gazzetta World: “I’ve always stated what I want. I’m happy at Roma and that is where I see myself. “On the other hand, an offer from Chelsea is a big deal and you have to take that into consideration. “I’ve said what I want, now let’s see what the club have to say.”
