Henry Onyekuru has spoken following his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles.


New Super Eagles call up Henry Onyekuru has spoken about his invitation to the Nigeria senior side ahead of their international friendly against Corsica later this month.

The striker is a late replacement for Austria Wien striker Olanrewaju Kayode, who is tied down by club engagements.

Nigeria will play two friendlies against Corsica on May 26 and then Togo on June 1, all in France, as part of their build-up to an AFCON 2019 qualifier against South Africa next month in Uyo.

The 19-year-old striker has netted 22 times for the modest Belgian club in all competitions this season and thanked the Eagles selectors and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for making his dream a reality.

“It’s a dream come true for me. I am very happy for this invitation and look forward to deliver for the national team,” Onyekuru told ScoreNigeria.

“I say thank you to Eagles coaches and the NFF for giving me this opportunity.”
