Brazil and PSG star Neymar has confessed that there was an argument over penalty duties, five months after an infamous on-pitch row involving him and Uruguay forward Edinson Cavani.

Neymar wanted to take a penalty off of Cavani, who was reportedly furious due to his quest to secure a sizeable bonus depending on how many goals he scores throughout the season.

"People talked about it as more than what it really was, although it's true that there was tension and friction with Cavani. But we resolved it quickly.

"Three days after what happened we sat down and talked. We had to resolve it as a personal matter without involving anyone else.

"The reports exaggerate it because it sells, they talk about things they shouldn't and it affects your concentration." Neymar confessed, speaking to TV Globo via MARCA.

The former Barcelona man who joined PSG on a World record deal last summer is expected to miss the rest of the season as he overcomes an injury to his ankle and foot.
