Flying Eagles of Nigeria star Tom Dele-Bashiru and Vincent Kompany are among six players released by Manchester City ahead of next season.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has only played one first-team game for back-to-back Premier League Champions and that was in 2017 but Pep Guardiola side had been unable to agree a deal with him to extend his stay at the Etihad,

However, Kompany was the only first team player out of contract this summer and Cityzen were keen to retain their captain but the 33-year-old opted for a new challenge by taking over as player-manager at Anderlecht.

Dele-Bashiru shone in the Flying Eagles opening U20 World Cup win over Qatar, scoring a superb goal but was thereafter consigned to the bench after he was tipped by FIFA to be the star for Nigeria team in Poland, but the team struggled to impress as they crashed out in the Round of 16 to Senegal.
