Nigeria among top seeds side for 2021 AFCON qualifiers

Super Eagles are among the top-seeded team for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers draw on Thursday, July 11 at the Aida Ballroom, Cairo Marriott Hotel in Egypt.

Confederation of African Football having been placed Gernot Rohr’s side along with Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Ghana, Congo Democratic Republic, Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Mali and Burkina Faso for 2021 tournament that will be held in Cameroon.

However, In Pot two are; Guinea, South Africa, Cape Verde, Uganda, Zambia, Benin, Gabon, Congo, Mauritania, Niger, Kenya and Libya.

Pot three has Madagascar, Zimbabwe, central Africa, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Angola, Malawi, Togo, Sudan and Tanzania.

Pot 4 is made up of Burundi, Rwanda, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Lesotho, Botswana, Comoros and Ethiopia.

In the last pool (pot 12) are; Liberia, Mauritius, Gambia, South Sudan, Chad, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles and Djibouti.

Four countries will be placed in each of the 12 groups, with the first two teams automatically qualified 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals to be hosted by Cameroon.
