Matchmakers Consult International, organizers of the prestigious Nigeria Pitch Awards, have congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari, all Nigerians and the victorious Super Eagles, on their qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup due to hold next summer in Russia.
Shina Philips, the President of the Nigeria Pitch Awards, also congratulated the hard working and focussed Amaju Pinnick-led administration of the Nigeria Football Federation for remaining committed to their initial plan of re-building Nigeria’s national teams. ‘We are delighted the rebuilding process has eventually yielded the desired results even though it appeared very tough and unpopular two years ago’, Philips said.
Speaking further, Philips noted that last Saturday, ‘Nigeria emerged the first African country to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, just like it happened in 1997.’
‘We are indeed delighted that our voters have always made the right decisions about award winners. The Akwa Ibom state Governor was last year’s ‘Football Friendly Governor of the Year,’ and Amaju Pinnick himself had previously won the Sam Okwaraji Award for Commitment to Nigerian Football. In every way you look at it, all the players and officials involved are all winners and have been so recognized even before kicking the ball on Saturday at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo’ he further said.
While restating their commitment to the growth of all our national teams, organizers of the football Awards announced that voting for the 2017 Awards will kick off in last November while the Award Ceremony will hold in March 2018.
