Nigerian Players’ Wrap: Awoniyi, Kalu Score, Onazi Injured

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has revealed he reject bigger offers from clubs in Turkey, Austria to remain Belgium.

Liverpool on loan star cut short an unhappy spell at KAA Gent to return to Royal Excel Mouscron for the second time after an excellent season last year at  Stade Le Canonnier

Awoniyi said: "I could have gone to bigger clubs in Turkey, Austria and even Belgium, but I wanted to return to Mouscron because they are a well organized team.

"There is quality in the team, we work for each other and this can only be good for a striker like me.

"Coach (Bernd) Stork is also a great man manager and he knows how to get the best out of his players.”

"He said he was not given much of a chance as a player on loan and so his unhappy spell at Gent.

Awoniyi has already scored twice in three matches since his return to Mouscron after he failed to score in 16 league appearances with Gent.
