Nigerian descent Dominic Solanke has reportedly rejected a move to join Leon Balogun at Brighton & Hove in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old Liverpool striker has yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp first team this season after falling behind in the pecking order of Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi for a place on the Reds bench

According to The Guardian UK claiming that Solanke turn down the move to team up with fellow Nigeria at Amex Stadium due to their one-striker approach and could be behind Glenn Murray and Florin Andone in the pecking order of strikers.

One of the reasons why Solanke might decide to join Crystal Palace is that manager Roy Hodgson plays with two strikers.

Although The Eagles have also been linked with Michy Batshuayi, Hodgson has identified the Liverpool starlet as his top offensive target ahead of the Chelsea loanee.

Since joining the Anfield side in the summer of 2017 from Chelsea, he has played 27 games for the first team.

Victor Moses and Tammy Abraham are the other players of Nigerian descent reportedly on the radar of Crystal Palace in the winter transfer market.
