The Nigerian duo of Joel Obi and Umar Sadiq get former Watford coach as their new manager for the at Torino replacing fired boss Sinisa Mihajlovic on Thursday following Wednesday night’s 2-0 defeat to city rival Juventus in the Coppa Italia.

Mazzarri had previously been in charge of Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo at Hornet before he was relieved of his duties by Premier League outfit after one season in charge last summer.

According to a statement released by club's official website confirming that both Obi and Sadiq will now be working with Mazzarri at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

“Torino Football Club announces that it has entrusted the role of Coach of the first team to Mr. Walter Mazzarri.

“The new Coach – to whom President Urbano Cairo extends the most cordial welcome, and his best wishes for good work – will take today’s scheduled behind closed doors training session at the Stadio Filadelfia.”

Torino are currently 12 points off the European places having played a game and taking on Bologna on Saturday in the league at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino
