Nigerian strikers Anthony Nwakaeme and Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis were both on target for their respective clubs in tonight’s UEFA Champions League third qualifying round matches.
Nwakaeme is continuing from where he left off last season as he followed up his brace in Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s previous Champions League clash with a goal for the Israeli champions in another playoff match in the world’s most prestigious club tournament.
The 28-year old propelled Israeli champions Hapoel Be’er Sheva to a 2-0 home win over Ludogorets of Bulgaria when he opened scoring after 19 minutes.Read also: Iheanacho signs for Leicester Friday
Meanwhile, In Belgium, young Nigerian striker Bonaventure Dennis scored as early as fifth minute for Belgian team Club Brugge, who were eventually held to a 3-3 draw at home by Turkish club Istanbul BB.
The overall winners of these ties will qualify for the final playoffs for the group stage of the Champions League.
