Newcomers ABS FC continued their good form in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as they held Sunshine Stars to a pulsating 2-2 in Akure.

The newly promoted side took the lead when tough defender defender Ernest Governor headed home after just 11minutes of play in the first half.

The home side equalized via a penalty after Chukwuebuka Anaekwe was adjudged to have fouled an opponent inside the box and got a yellow card for his troubles.

Ayo Saka stepped up and dispatched the spot kick with aplomb to make it 1-1 and the home side took the lead before half-time as Alaba Adeniyi scored after fine work from Anthony Omaka.

Sunshine were hoping to win at home after losing their last game in Akure to MFM FC but Adeshina Gata ensured that wasn’t the case as he grabbed the second goal for the away side to end the game 2-2.

The result meant that the newly promoted ABS now occupies the second position on the NPFL log with 14 points, three adrift leaders Plateau United.
