NPFL: Former MFM star Onuwa sets top target for new club

Former MFM midfielder Chukwuka Onuwa has set a top target for his new club Enyimba after penning a three-year contract. 

The 20-year-old star quit Olukoya Boys after five years spell with the club to team-up People’s Elephant ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Onuwa told SCORENigeria and he said: "My target with Enyimba is to help them return to their glorious day by winning the league and also to win CAF Champions league.

"I feel happy to join one of best club in Africa. For such a club to show interest in me meant I did well in MFM.”

Onuwa said he had a great time at MFM FC.

"I had a wonderful time with MFM, it was great five years with the club,

"God used the coaches, backroom staff, my wonderful teammates to shape my career.

"My appreciation goes to the man, coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, who gave me the opportunity to hit the limelight. I will always I appreciate him.

"I can’t forget the fantastic fans who gave me the support I needed both on and off the pitch.

"Big thank you to Godwin Enakhena and also our father in the Lord in the person of Daniel Olukoya, the General overseer of MFM.”

Onuwa begins his professional career with 36 Lions FC in 2008/2009 season before proceeded to Heartland Football Club of Owerri and he he joined Mountain of Fire and Miracles Football Club of Lagos in 2013.
