CAF CC: Malian club shocks MFM

MFM defeat Nasarawa United 2-1 in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League match 13 fixture at the Agege Stadium on Wednesday

The Lagos based team put behind them the disappointment of last Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup defeat to Djoliba of Mali as two quick goals in the first-half from Zinte Udeh and Julius Emiloju was a enough for the Olukoya Boys despite Ikechukwu Nwani pull one for Northern team.

MFM were awarded a penalty in the seventh minute after Chimeze Martins hacked down Waheed Adebayo in the box, but Udeh scores from the spot to make 1-0 in the seven minutes of the game.

The host doubles their lead through left-back Emiloju doubled the advantage two minutes later after Okorom Stanley sends in a long ball from the midfield but Nasarawa pull one back 15 minutes from the end through Mwani who guided Victor Okoro’s inch-perfect cross past Abayomi Folarin.

Nasarawa were unable to find the equalising goal and will return to Lafia empty-handed.

Up next for MFM a trip to Damaturu to battle Yobe Star on Sunday.
