NPFL: Odey, Boboye bag Player & Manager of the month awards

Coach Kennedy Boboye of Plateau United and MFM FC forward Stephen Odey have been named the winners of the League Bloggers Awards (LBA) Manager and Player for January respectively in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Boboye and Odey win the first individual award from the independent LBA in the current NPFL season on the back of impressive performances for their respective sides in a publication on the NPFL official website.

Boboye led United to finish January as the best team in the Nigeria top division with 13 points from five games (W4 D1) to end the month under review unbeaten, replicating his last term's feat of becoming the first manager to win the LBA in the manager's category in the month of February during his time with Abia Warriors.

The Plateau United manager edged MFM FC's Fidelis Ilechukwu, Gbenga Ogunbote of Enyimba and Henry Makinwa of ABS FC to the LBA Manager's recognition for January.

Odey brushed aside teammate Olatunbosun Sikiru, Kabiru Umar of Plateau United and Olufemi Thomas of Rivers United to win the LBA Player for January.

Odey in January contributed four goals in four appearances. He also provided an assist to further put himself in a superior position to win the award for January.

Boboye and Odey will reportedly receive their LBA for January in the coming days.
