Stephen Odey became the first player to reach double figures in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season as he hit a brace on Sunday to help MFM FC to a 2-1 win over Plateau United.

Playing in front of the Nigeria Football Federation President and newly elected CAF Executive Committee member, Amaju Pinnick, Odey showed why he deserves a call up to the national team with two well-taken goals.

Odey scored what was his ninth goal late in the first half before sealing the three points with another goal from the penalty spot to take his tally of the season to 10 goals.

Peter Eneji  had gave the visitors some glimmer of hope when he canceled Odey’s opener with his second touch after coming in as s substitute but the Olukoya Boys ensured that they preserve their 100% home record with late goal that gave them all three points.

MFM now have 24 points just one adrift of Plateau United at the top. The Lagos team however have a game at hand and can move up if they win same.
