OFFICIAL: Barca & PSG transfer target De Ligt joins Juve

Barcelona, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain transfer target Matthijs de Ligt has officially joined Juventus from Ajax.

The 19-year-old Netherland international who had previously been linked with a move to Nou Camp, Old Trafford and Le Parc des Prince's giant has signed a five-year contract with the Serie A champions worth a basic €16m (£14.5m) a season which could rise to €24m (£21.7m) with add-ons. 

Juventus have paid an initial fee of 75 million euros (£67.8million) for a player who helped Ajax reach last season's Champions League semi-finals and win the Eredivisie title while reaching the Nations League final with Holland.

A statement on the club's website announcing the deal reads: "Juventus Football Club SpA announces that it has reached an agreement with Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax NV for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Matthijs de Ligt for a fee of €75m, payable in five years over accessory charges for €10.5m. 

"Juventus signed a five-year performance contract with the same player until June 30, 2024."

The centre-back will become the fifth player from the Netherlands to pull on the Old Lady jersey, following Ouasim Bouy, Eljero Elia, Edwin van der Sar, and of course, the iconic Edgar Davids. 

Juventus had a busy window already having already brought Luca Pellegrini from Roma, Genoa's Christian Romero, Turkish defender Merih Demiral has joined from Sassuolo with Gianluigi Buffon has completed a romantic return to the club on a free transfer, while midfielders Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey, from PSG and Arsenal respectively, have also joined on free transfers.
