OFFICIAL: Nigerian descent joins Troost-Ekong in Udinese

Nigerian descent Stefano Okaka has officially joined William Troost-Ekong in Udinese from Watford on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old striker has struggled to get for a game-time under current manager Javi Garcia and ex-Roma star made just three appearances for the Hornets this season.

Udinese technical director Daniele Prade hailed the arrival of Okaka which would add potent to the club’s forward line he said.

"Okaka is a strong point physically, good at defending the ball and getting the team up.

"Stefano is strong in the air and inside the penalty area.

Former Serie A striker made his national debut for Italy as a substitute, replacing Sebastian Giovinco in the second half, and scored the winning goal at Sampdoria's ground the Stadio Luigi Ferraris

Okaka has featured 35 appearances for Watford in two and a half seasons, scoring five goals and he will join fellow Hornet Marvin Zeegelaar, who is also expected to join the Italian club before the end of the January transfer window.
