CHAN Eagles striker Anthony Okpotu has joined Moroccan side Difaâ El Jadidi on a three-year deal from Lobi Stars in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The 24-year-old was part Nigeria’s home-based side that came second at the African Nations Championship in Morocco early this year and he was last season top scorer with 19 goals in the domestic league.
Okpotu was officially unveiled on Thursday evening as a player of Difaa El Jadida until 2021 as Botola outfit hope that Lobi all-time goalscorer will fire them to the top of the league.
Nigeria international leaves the Markudi base club for the second time after his ill-fated stint with Libyan side Al-Ittihad Tripoli in 2013 and he had a trial with Brondby but was not signed Danish Superliga side eventually.
Okpotu becomes the third Nigeria Professional Football League players in recent years to move to Morocco, joining Osaguona Ighodaro (Raja Casablance, 2013) and Chisom Chikatara
(Wydad Casablanca, 2016).
