Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been declared fit to play some part of Egypt's World Cup opener against Uruguay according to coach Hector Cuper.

The 25-year-old PFA player of the year sustained a shoulder injury during Liverpool's defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final Last month and it had been expected that the winger would be out of his country first game in Russia.

However, Argentina has indicated that Salah is 'almost 100% certain' to feature against Uruguay in Yekaterinburg on Friday afternoon.

At a press conference, Cuper said: "Salah is doing very well indeed, he's recovered very quickly. We'll see how it goes today. I can almost assure you 100% he will play, barring any unforeseen factors at the last moment."

Salah notch in 33 goals for his country, with the remainder of the 23-man squad in Russia having only netted 33 times between them.
