Okocha: My Best XI

In today's FCNaija My Best XI series, we caught up with one of the Okocha brothers, Emma, who reeled out what could best be described as a ‘killer squad’.

Emma, the elder brother of Austin Okocha, was in the Algeria 1990 Super Eagles squad that won silver; scoring Nigeria’s first goal in that year’s AFCON. He was a firm favourite with then Dutch coach Clemens Westerhof. Among other clubs, Emma featured for the great Enugu Rangers team where he distinguished himself in flying colours.

He has opted for a 4-3-3 formation that has a mix of the old and new school. Enjoy…

Peter Schmeichel

The great Danish shot stopper, Schmeichel is the choice for Emma in-between the sticks.

The 53-year old was voted the IFFHS World's Best Goalkeeper in 1992 and 1993. He is best remembered for his most successful years at English club, Manchester United, whom he captained to the 1999 UEFA Champions League to complete the Treble, and for winning UEFA Euro 1992 with Denmark.
