Okocha's former club set to sign Nigerian star Anichebe

Austin Jay Jay Okocha former club Bolton Wanderers want to sign forgotten Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old left Sunderland last summer after relegation from the Premier League and joined Beijing Enterprises on a short-term deal. 

According to the Sunderland Echo, The English Championship side Bolton are looking at former Everton and West Brom forward Anichebe who is a free agent, after his contract with Chinese outfit, expired as a potential replacement for Gary Madine to joined Cardiff City last month. 

The Olympic silver medalist at 2008 on Beijing is a free agent and able to sign for a club outside of the transfer window and could be set for a return to England.

Anichebe rose the ranks of Everton where he made 168 appearances for Toffees with 26 goals to his credit in all competitions before switching to West Brom and later Sunderland.

He made his Super Eagles debut in 2008, scoring one goal in 11 appearances.
