The Ibadan-born star Peter Olayinka reacted after scoring first UEFA Champions League goal in San Siro during Slavia Prague 1-1 scored draw with Inter Milan on Tuesday night.

The 23-year-old Nigerian had put the Czech side ahead in the 63rd minute of the encounter but his goal was not enough to secure an upset after Nerrazurri summer signing Nicolo Barella equalised for Antonio Conte men late in the game.

Olayinka who has joined Yakubu Aigbeni, Victor Ikpeba, Daniel Amokachi and Lucky Idahor to find back of the net on their Champions League debut told the club official website: "Of course we're sorry. Losing a win in the last minutes and losing the chance to get three points is a great pity. But we take one point. But we all feel mixed feelings.

"You're right, I thought for a while. But then I looked at the referee and found that everything was fine. I was really happy, it feels great. ”

"It's amazing. When I was a kid, I watched San Siro on TV and dreamed of scoring a goal myself one day. Now it has happened and it is incredible. ”

"No, that is not authoritative for us. We want to go to every match with the same goal and not to lose it. ”

Olayinka hopes to continue impressive form when Slavia Prague welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Sinobo Stadium on October 2.
