Oshoala‘s strike listed for World Cup Goal of the tournament

Super Eagles striker Asisat Oshoala strike nominated for FIFA Women’s World Cup Goal of the tournament in just concluded competition in France. 

The 24-year-old Barcelona star scored Nigeria's second goal in the 2-0 group stage win over South Korea after former Arsenal and Liverpool forward raced half the length of the field, dribbled past a defender, rounded the keeper and scored from a tight angle.

On Monday, FIFA released a list of 10 selected goals from the just concluded competition with Oshoala and Cameroon winger Ajara Nchout’s match-winner against New Zealand in the final group game are the only two African goals selected.

Oshoala who has won the African Women's Player of the Year thrice will crave the Goal of the Tournament accolade as a consolation for her side's Round of 16 exits.

The winner of the prize is currently being decided by votes on the Fifa website, which opened on Monday.
