Kwara United and ABS FC may have to find a new home ground for their league matches following the havoc wrecked on the Kwara Township Stadium, in Ilorin after a heavy downpour on Tuesday night in the metropolis.

According to the stadium manager, Wale Obalola, the Kwara State Stadium Complex was severely damaged during this downpour but they were lucky that there were no loss of lives during the heavy storm that accompanied the rain.

"It completely damaged the ultra-modern scoreboard, the whole of west fence of the old wing of the main bowl, the stadium fence by Sultan Road, the indoor sports hall, the referee secretariat, offices and KSA office. We are still assessing other areas," he said

Obalola said some people were still seeking refuge at one of the affected parts of the stadium while the storm lasted.
