PSG 1-3 MAN UTD: Lukaku and Rashford send PSG out of UCL

Manchester United forwards Romelu Lukaku and Marcos Rashford's goals were enough to send Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League in the round of 16 at the Parc des prince Stadium following a 3-1 victory over the Ligue 1 champions on Wednesday evening.

Romelu Lukaku broke the deadlock in the second minute of the match and just 10 minutes latter Paris Saint-Germain defender Juan Bernat equalised for the home team from a brilliant assist from Kylian Mbappe.

ParisSaint-Germain controlled the game in the middle of the pack with Angel di Maria and Julian Draxler busy distributing the ball to PSG attack.

Manchester United remained sharp and efficient with the ball the few times they have it, PSG keeper Gianluigi Buffon made a huge error and Lukaku was at the right place at the right time to put the ball into the net to make it 2-1 for the visitors in the 30th minute.

Di Maria got the first yellow card of the match after he fouled a Manchester United player in the 34th minute. Manchester United was forced to make a substitution after Eric Bailly sustained an injury, he was replaced by Diogo Dalot in the 36th minute.

The first half ended with Manchester United leading with a 2-1 scoreline.

The start of the second half saw the home team pushing forward to get another goal in a bid to level terms with Manchester United to avoid elimination at this stage of the tournament.

Both teams played with caution as they avoid to concede a further goal, Thomas Tuchel made a double substitution as Leandro Paredes came in for Thilo Kehrer and Draxler who sustained an injury was changed for Thomas Meunier in the 70th minute.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made another substitution as Andreas Pereira was replaced by Tahith Chong with 10 minutes to go.

Bernat was denied another chance by the woodwork in the 84th minute of the clash.

Ashley Young was replaced by Mason Greenwood with just three minutes to end the match.

Manchester United was awarded a last minute penalty and Marcus Rashford made no mistake to convert the spot kick to make it 3-1 against the host.

Edison Cavani is thrown in as Dani Alves was substituted in the additional time.

The game ended favour of the visitors on 3-3 aggregate but Manchester United qualified for the quarterfinals on away goal rule as PSG once again crashed out of the tournament.
