Paris Saint-Germain fans booed Neymar for refused to let striker Edinson Cavani take a late penalty as the runaway league leader was already leading emphatically and the Uraguay international needed one goal to become Parisian’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Brazil star struck a 31-minute hat-trick before with one spectacular solo run and finish, but the biggest talking point of the game arrived seven minutes from time as PSG were awarded a penalty with the home side already 7-0 at Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
Neymar and Cavani fight again
Cavani, who had already one goal to his name, wanted to take the spot kick with the 30-year-old needed one more goal to overtake Zlatan Ibrahimovic whom both are on the same number of goals of 156 for the club.
Despite the Paris crowd screaming for Cavani to have his moment, Neymar pulled rank and converted the penalty himself to grab his fourth goal of the night, much to the disgust of the home supporters who booed him as he added his fourth in the encounter.
It is not the first time Cavani has clashed with Neymar over the taking of a penalty with reports earlier in the season claiming the attacking duo had had a serious falling out.
He was later stripped of penalty duties and Neymar has since gained full control.
