Paris Saint-Germain Ligue 1 clash with Toulouse this weekend could be off because of violent protests by farmers.

Traffic on local motorways has come to a standstill as tractors and trucks were placed on the road to block cars passing, while tyres were even set on fire.

According to the Sun, say that the Local farmers are protesting against the government's plans to reduce the number of agricultural areas which qualify for farming subsidies from the European Union.

The new regulations could see each individual's income decreased by almost £9,000-a-year and the situation is threatening to get out of hand with claims that "villagers will die", if their voices are not heard.

Toulouse host the runaway leader PSG in week 25 of the Ligue 1 encounter at Stadium de Toulouse on Saturday as the Les Pitchouns sit 15th in the log table.

But both sides may get the weekend off as a precaution measure with the protests showing no signs of stopping and will give Les Parisiens enough time to prepare for the most anticipated Champions League clash against Real Madrid in the first leg of round 16 on Wednesday at Santiago Bernabeu with the return leg in two weeks time.
