Puyol aims a sly dig at Neymar after PSG UCL exit

Former Barcelona star Carles Puyol has aimed a sly dig at Neymar after his decision to quit Camp Nou for Paris Saint-Germain last two season.

Puyol was of the view that Neymar’s move to Ligue 1 was questionable and it has not augured well with the Brazilian forward.

Neymar moved to PSG in 2017 in a world record €222m.

Puyol told Marca: "We should ask him (if he was wrong leaving Barcelona).

"He was at the best place and with the best teammates. He was a very wanted player, but he wanted other challenges and we have to accept it. Now, it is wise to say that he was wrong. He had injuries and PSG did not do things as planned, especially in the Champions League.

"But he still has a great career and when he finishes, he will have to take stock.”

Puyol won six La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, four Spanish Super Cup, Three Champions League titles, two FIFA Club World Cup and a UEFA Super Cup.
