Ramos gets Real squad ovation for Beverly Hills comment

Sergio Ramos insists Real Madrid are focused on the task at hand, which is to progress to the Champions League final as Los Blancos visit the Estadio Vicente Calderon on Wednesday night and can expect to be confronted by a fiery atmosphere.

The captain was asked about the motivational messages coming from the Atletico camp in recent days and he admitted he was bewildered by the notion that the only players capable of values such as hard work and sacrifice are the ones wearing red and white.

"There's a perception that all of us [at Real Madrid] were born in Beverly Hills.

"Yet there are people from the streets here too and we have principles and good manners. The campaigns, the tweets and all the things that [Atletico] want to generate are respectable, but it doesn't change anything for us.

"We will continue with humility. At the [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu I experienced a great atmosphere that was electric, but we're going to go [to the Calderon] to play football." said Ramos on MARCA.

Ramos upon returning to the dressing room after the press conference, was in fact greeted to an ovation, his words clearly striking a chord with his teammates.
