Ramos refutes claims about former Chelsea manager Conte

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has refuted claims of criticising former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte when the Italian was on the verge of securing a move to Santiago Bernabeu last week.

Ramos in his words when discussing Real Madrid next coach when Julen Lopetegui was on the verge of a sack at the Spanish capital.

"Respect is won, it's not imposed. We've won titles, and team management is more important than the knowledge of a coach,” Ramos said.

After the Champions League 5-0 win against Viktoria Plzen, Ramos denied he was talking about Conte.

He said: "I did not speak at all about him, I generalized about the hard hand, but I did not talk about him.

"I just said that a coach has to earn respect.

"Since Cristiano (Ronaldo) left, the one in the spotlight is me, but I'm good.”

Real Madrid will take a trip to Balaidos to face Celta Vigo in the La Liga on Sunday.
