Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos might be sanctioned for his comments after the 2-1 win over Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Ramos was excited with the result against Ajax after Real Madrid was made to work hard to earn the victory at the Johan Cruyff Stadium and he admitted forcing a yellow card late in the game.

Real Madrid lived it late against the Dutch team following Marco Asensio strike with just a few minutes to end the match after Karim Benzema’s strike was cancelled by Hakim Ziyech

Upon receiving the caution, Ramos is now out of the second leg, but it also clears his disciplinary record for the rest of the competition.

"Looking at the result, I'd be lying if I said I didn't force it," Ramos said in the mixed zone. "It's something I was thinking about."

"Ajax grow at home and they raised their performance.

"They pressed us very high and didn't let us receive the ball so we looked for longer passes.

"Now it's up to them to suffer in front of our fans.”

Ramos would miss the return leg of the clash at the Santiago Bernabeu and he could further miss more games if Real Madrid qualifies to the quarterfinals.
