The 2018 World Cup in Russia is eight months away and 23 countries of the 32 nations set to compete for football's biggest prize have secured a place.

European and intercontinental play-offs, along with another round of African qualifiers, will determine the remaining nine sides, and while it's early to weigh the chances of those yet to qualify, we can't go wrong in assessing the trophy claims of the nations that have already earned spot.

Nigeria after beating Zambia to become the first African country to qualify for the 2018 World Cup takes the number 10 spot on the list while their African counterpart, Egypt are spotted at number 15.

As expected the defending Champions, Germany are World Cup favourites and leads in the ranking table.
