Marcus Rashford dreams to feature at the World Cup came through on Wednesday and the English man took to social media to pay tribute to his mother.

Gareth Southgate announced his official World Cup squad on Wednesday afternoon where Manchester United team-mates Rashford and Ashley Young were among those handed a seat on the plane to Russia.

United striker Rashford, among a host of other World Cup hopefuls, sat anxiously as he awaited the call that would tell him whether to pack his bags for Russia or for a summer holiday.

Finally, he made it in the World Cup list and couldn't wait to keep her mother in the know who the footballer revealed stood years in wait of this special moment.

Rashford wrote on Instagram: "After years of you standing on the touchline in the cold and rain, Mum we're off to the World Cup! 🦁🦁🦁."
