Cristiano Ronaldo and Antonine Griezmann scored one goal each in the derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to each the game in a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in their La Liga game on Sunday afternoon.
Real Madrid started the game with a much-attacking flair as Ronaldo and h teammates pushed up to get an opening goal in the tie.
Atletico Madrid almost broke the deadlock in the 21 st minute but Real Madrid defence did well to protect the ball form scoring. Real Madrid continued to threaten the visitors with a full attacking game as Atletico Madrid was kept at bay.
Diego Costa squandered a chance to put Atletico Madrid up as Keylor Navas was forced into a superb save. Thomas Partey
was shown a yellow card in the 33rd minute for a foul on Sergio Ramos. Real Madrid almost got the first goal but Toni Kroos couldn't get the right contact with the ball in the box.
Marcelo's shot was denied by the Cross bar

Navas was forced into a save as Atletico Madrid almost got the second goal in quick succession after scoring their first goal.
Zinedine Zidane opted for his first change as he brought in Karim Benzema for Ronaldo in the 61st minute.
Atletico Madrid attacked for the second goal but Real Madrid looked compose despite the absence of Ronaldo.
Zidane made a double substitution as he removed Asensio for Isco and Kovacic for Luka Modric in the 71st minute. Real Madrid advanced forward to get the second but the visitors look composed in the defence as Real Madrid continued to deliver numerous cross into the opponent area.
Modric fired a shot in the 77th minute but it was inches wide off
the target, Real Madrid enjoyed more ball possession but failed to capitalise on their chances.
The game ended 1-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
