Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has told the coach to sign a new striker after their recent 1-0 defeat to Villarreal in La Liga., according to report.

The result leaves the Champions with a staggering 19 points off the league leaders Barcelona and 10 behind Atletico Madrid in second.

Real Madrid is experiencing a disastrous season despite winning the Champions League and the La Liga last season.

Suggestions have been made to Zidane by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to come up with a list of players he wanted this January to help the club put up a fight for the League and the Champions League.

According to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Ramos has demanded Zidane sign a new forward after he sold Alvaro Morata to Chelsea during the summer and the captain wants a replacement.

Morata was only a peripheral figure at the Bernabeu before being sold for around £70m.

But despite his bit-part status, he’s been badly missed this season

The Spain international bagged 15top-flight goals for the La Liga Champion  last term and has already racked up 11 for Chelsea

Despite Ramos’ private protestations, Zidane has publicly insisted he won’t splash the cash this month.

"I don’t need anyone and that's that,” he said.

“I don’t want anybody. We have a squad, we started with them and I believe in my players.

"There are always difficult times during the season, which is what you’re trying to convey, but I don’t think like that.

“There’s everything to play for and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season, which is when things are analysed."

Real Madrid has failed to win a single game this year and the form of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have dropped significantly this season.
