Real Madrid has been a longtime admirer of the De Gea and has been linked with the goal keeper for some time now, but Manchester United is reluctant to let their man leave, the Spanish is yet to force a move either.

Los Blancos is ready to pressure the Old Trafford outfit into releasing him, although United manager Jose Mourinho will only consider the offer if Kroos, or possibly Raphael Varane, is part of the deal.

United have just re-signed Argentinian second string keeper Sergio Romero to a contract extension, and it is felt that he would be a worthy replacement should De Gea leave, having done particularly well in United’s successful Europa League campaign, where he played in every match.

Manchester United is also preparing for a season without De Gea United are also keeping tabs on Leicester City keeper Kasper Schmeichel, who would be keen to follow in his father’s footsteps and play in goal for United.

A move back to Spain for De Gea will be of huge temptation to him, but only if Manchester United allow the approach and Real Madrid is not in a position to make a cash only offer for him.

Since his arrival from Atletico Madrid, he has made 200 appearances in the Premier League and won it just on a single occasion in 2012/13 season.
